Hello, Catholic Moms!
Thank you so much for watching my talk at the Catholic Moms Summit!
Before the Summit, all of the presenters got together for a “mixer” via Zoom, and it was the most productive zoom call ever. One of the questions asked was “What is our goal or reason why we chose our topic for the Summit talk?” or something like that.
Here’s my answer:
I have always had a heavy knowledge of scripture (thank you evangelical upbringing) and a keen sense of my emotional life. When I became Catholic, I discovered theology in a new way and it really enlivened my understanding of scripture and the person. BUT - when I found philosophy, it changed the game.
It was like someone took a thread on a needle and intricately sewn together all of my life in a rational and beautiful way.
So what’s my goal? If one woman, visits this page and picks up one of these books, that will be enough. That is my goal.
Let’s become philosophers! After all, I think mothers make great philosophers.
Please keep in touch! And if you pick up one of these books, I’d love to hear all about it.
Who knows? Maybe we should start a study group for one of these?
Yours in Christ,
Rachel
